The school holidays are now over. And if you are anything like us, that means that routine is back in place and the cruisy (messy?) life is gone! No more extra junk food regularly (don’t judge us!) or staying in P.J’s til 10am! My kids love both of these things on school holidays!

I so enjoy the low pressure of school holidays, but I really love routine and I believe it makes me a better parent because of the way I am wired. When each term begins again, I reassess our routine and tweek it to serve us best. This also prompts me to reassess how well I have led my kids spiritually the term before. It seems that there is ALWAYS room for improvement. I found this thought provoking article in the link provided about raising Godly kids that I really appreciated. I feel that by even focusing on ONE of their suggestions, I will be serving my kids better. I have noted the main points for you to see but it is really worth reading the article. It isn’t long! Our responsibility as parents is HUGE and we should always be looking for ways to parent better. Both practically and spiritually! Here is a glimpse...

1. Parents must commit to continually deepening their understanding of Christianity. 2. Parents must intentionally make “spiritual space” in their home. 3. Parents must study the Bible with their kids. 4. Parents must proactively and regularly ask their kids what questions they have about faith. 5. Parents must ask their kids the tough questions they don’t think to ask.
