I was struck in my devotions this morning yet again at just how wonderfully obedient Joseph the adopted father of Jesus was. After God spoke to him in a dream through an angel, Joseph woke up and immediately took Mary home as his wife. There was no second thought once he knew God was in it. We don't hear too much about Joseph but from that sort of start to his account in the scriptures I believe he must have been a faithful and honourable man. I would expect he went on to be a husband who treated his wife with kindness and spiritual authority and a dad who led his kids with integrity and strength. There is no record of his other amazing feats, just things showing he was a family man who led his family in God's ways and therefore did an amazing thing! Satan attacks families! One of his favourite ways to attack is through marriage breakdown. Don't even think for a moment that you are safe. Equip yourself with tools to defend your marriage against attack so that you can lead your family like Joseph (and Mary) did. Some great practical tips are in this article.
