"I don't believe in God!"

God fearing parents never want to here these words come out of their child's mouth, right? It's downright scary! But I think you would agree that it is a reality that many parents face at one time or another. Sometimes it is short lived. Sometimes it is not. But I believe that if we do not acknowledge that our children will have questions, and will at times question the very existence of God, we run the risk of being unprepared if that time eventuates. Like any important issue in our children's lives the key is NOT to let them work it out on their own. They need help. I found this article that gives some fabulous steps to walking through atheism with teenagers. But maybe you have grown kids? Or pre-teens? I believe they are still applicable for any age group. I also believe they are principles that should be applied to any serious conversation in general! So check it out for that reason too! Something the article does not mention, is to pray. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! Pray CONSTANTLY for your child and their relationship with Jesus. I know I don't do it enough. Do you? Let's pray now!
