For the first time in my mummy life, I am alone in the house. And have been for days. My husband is deployed and my kids are away with their grandparents. AND IT IS NICE! But very quickly the tendency to be lazy is creeping in and I really have to be disciplined not to waste good opportunities. It gets me thinking about when my kids lie around the house in the holidays. They know better than to say they are bored because then I put them to work, but sometimes it is clear they are leaning into unproductive and sloth like tendencies. It is easy for us as parents to fill their days up with activities but sometimes it is also good to give them boundaries and guidelines to work out for themselves how to best fill their time.
