I'm writing this sitting outside my parents house. I've just finished doing some jobs for them because they are on a well deserved trip overseas. As I walked through the house I saw so many things that reminded me of just how blessed Carl and I were growing up with these parents. Scriptures and prompts on the fridge that are more than decoration. Well worn bibles and journals on their individual desks. Christian non fiction to learn more about Him...even at nearly age 70. Our parents won't leave us a whole lot when they pass, but they are leaving us more than the financially richest of parents. By their example of seeing them actively live out their relationship with Christ, Carl and I both know it is real and something to embrace. Now it's our turn to do the same for our kids. You may or may not have had the start we had but you still have the gift of Jesus. What are you leaving for your kids?
