I'll never forget the time we were informed by the school that Josiah had been sent to the principle for some 'undesirable' behaviour in grade 2. Talk about mortifying! I think you would agree there are times when we all feel completely clueless when it comes to parenting! Thankfully there is help available - especially with Jesus as our center! The first goal of any Christian parent should always be to shepherd a child's heart towards Christ (Deut 11:19). This will help in a child being more instinctive and motivated to making better behavioural choices (not to mention having their own relationship with Jesus!). Many churches have courses and support for parents with this, (find out more about my church here) butI also believe that there is benefit in parents learning some skills from other sources as necessary.
